Ascension Parish’s Venture Crew 597 will be offering to all interested Venturer Scouts (coed) and also Boy Scouts (15yrs of age or older), an opportunity to earn their Pope Pius XII Award. This is Scouting’s senior most Catholic religious aware, and is calibrated to Scouts in 9th grade or higher. This program is designed to allow the scout the opportunity to discern the purpose of his or her life, both now and later, with respect to the three main areas of Catholic life: 1) Their relationship with the secular world based on their God given talents and friendships, 2) Their fidelity to God both now and in their future, via vows to their spouse or to religious life, and lastly 3) Their relationship to their Holy Mother, the Church, via Her ministries, based on their God given gifts. Our meetings will be held on most Sunday evenings, (from after the 5:30 Mass until about 9:00). We will begin on August 28th and end with a group BOR in the beginning of January. Candidates will then receive their Pope Pius XII medal on Scout Sunday from our Archbishop. Interested Scouts should contact Bill Imming Jr., 636-530-9694 by August 27th. ImmingJr@sbcglobal.net
