How have you have used the gifts of the Holy Spirit in your daily life since you began Spirit Alive?  “I have gained courage to start a group at my school”  “I have used the gifts as a way to guide me to always see Christ in others” “I believe I am more courageous when standing up for my beliefs”  “I have been able to understand my faith better through this program and been able to apply it to my daily life through my interaction with others” “I used the gift to bring my friends closer to God and by doing random acts of kindness”  “I have used wisdom and right judgment when teaching the kids since they look up to us and take after what we say”  "I now know how important the gifts are, and if you let them fill you, you will become closer to God.”  “I learned to be more open, to take risks and to have courage.”“I understand how the Holy Spirit works in my life, and I am willing to share with anyone who asks.”Would you recommend this program to your friends? "Yes, beacuse this program changed my perpective about many things”  These are a few of the comments girls made about the The Spirit Alive program, one of the eight faith-formation programs sponsored by the Office of Catholic Scouting Ministry.  The Spirit Alive program, open to all girls in high school, is designed to help girls grow in their awareness of the Holy Spirit.  They learn how the Holy Spirit has manifested itself in the history of the people of God and the ways in which the Holy Spirit enlivens their own spirituality.  The program’s emphasis is on prayer, study of Scripture and documents of Vatican II, and service to others. After the girls complete the program, they attend an evening of faith sharing called “Sharing the Spirit”, and they receive their awards on Presentation Sunday at the Cathedral Basilica.  As one girl remarked about The Spirit Alive program, “It’s a great way to refresh your faith and remember how much you love being so close to God.”Click here for more about Spirit Alive Faith Formation Program

It was fun and full of non-stop activities. I think that young people will choose to become chaste.-I thought it was really fun since it was explained really well.  I learned that chastity is a better way to live.-I liked it a lot. I can actually use the information in real life-It was awesome. I learned a little about chastity in school but I learned a lot here.-I always love hearing real life stories so I loved the talks.-It made me think about how I act with guys.-I liked the modesty talk from Chris (the guy on the team).-I thought it was great. I really like the talks. I will always remember to believe in myself.-I thought about how much I need God in all my relationships.-I learned God has more meaning to me than a guy can treat me.From the moms & troop leaders:-I have to let you know the best part of the day was our drive home (approx. 35 minutes), my daughter and I had some great conversations about chastity, God, boys, school and choices!  Here's to keeping the talking going and to continuing the "Romantic Revolution."-Covered a range of very appropriate topics that were presented at a level that all the girls could easily understand.-The talks from the teens were most memorable for me.-I especially liked the male perspective on how men/boys view women.-Excellent - right mix of talks and mixers and activities.-Yes, (I grew closer to God) by seeing how one little event may change the future of even one girl and how the word of chastity can be spread so easily and quickly.
