Families are invited to join us at the closing Mass at 4 PM. This retreat is open to all scouts and ideal for scouts working on Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius XII programs.

Ad Altare Dei review is required for all boys who have completed the Ad Altare Dei Faith Formation Award program. Each scout needs to bring the program book and project related materials. Once the review is completed the leader or parent collects the signed application and evaluation. The application is then turned in along with the payment for the medal, pocket card and knot. At this time you will receive a letter about the details of the Scout Sunday Prayer Service! The leaders and parents are welcomed to attend!

To: All Cub Scouts, Webelos Scouts, leaders and parents! Join other Catholic Cub Scouts and families for a day of faith and fun! The Cub Scouts will participate in age-appropriate activities focusing on "Building Your Life with Jesus.” The Webelos will participate in their own program: they will learn about and fulfill the requirements for the St. Rose Philippine Duchesne and Blessed Miguel Pro patches from our Footsteps of American Saints program as well as the Joyful Mysteries patch from our Rosary Series. In addition, they will work on and fulfill the requirements to earn the Showman Activity Pin. The Saints patches will be available for purchase at the Trading post and also at the OCS. The Activity Pins are ordered through your Cub Pack or on your own.

Webelos Program Schedule

The Webelos Program will run concurrently with the Cub Program Schedule. During the Activity Sessions, the Webelos will work on and complete the Showman Activity Pin, two Saints from the Footsteps of American Saints program, and the International Catholic Awareness Emblem.

One Leader or Parent is REQUIRED for every 5 Scouts. You can register as group or individual. If you register as a group, your registration will be listed with the name of the person who registered. Please check in as a group.

REGISTRATION COSTS: Registration costs are $6.00 for each Scout, Adult or Parent.

Walk-in's are welcome but at $8.00 for each Scout, Adult or Parent.

Advanced registration is encouraged!

Bring with you on the day: Filled water bottle, warm clothes, extra shoes and a morning snack. Bring money for the store because we have “cool stuff” for sale!

An optional hot dog meal can be purchased at $2.00 per person.

Lunch is “Stone Soup” drink, crackers, condiments, bowls, utensils, are provided.

Bring a vegetable for the stone soup!

105 Years of Youth Ministry -"A Scout is Reverent" - The Scout Sunday Prayer service will be held on February 1, 2015, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis, in the Central West End. The prayer service is where many of the Catholic unit awards and other faith formation awards for the scouts are presented.

Scout Sunday Prayer Service at the CathedralDate: February 1, 2015 – 2:30 p.m.-3:45 p.m. (Arrive no later than 2:00 p.m.)Place: Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis (on Lindell Blvd.)All of the Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius XII awards are presented at the Cathedral Basilica. The requirements must be completed and  the application received in the Office of Catholic Scouting Ministry no later than January 15th of each year.What awards are presented at the Cathedral?All Scouts who have earned the Ad Altare Dei and the Pope Pius XII awards will be presented at the Cathedral. The Archbishops unit award, Chaplians unit award, the National Catholic Quality unit award along with the adult St. George award will also be presented at the Cathedral.How can we have Parvuli Dei Parish Representatives at the Cathedral?On a first come, first serve basis we have parish representatives for the Parvuli Dei awards at the Cathedral ceremony. We accept a total of 50 youth Diocesan wide earning the Parvuli Dei award to be a representative. Contact the Catholic Scouting Ministry office with your estimated number of Scouts and the parish name. Applications are due for this group of scouts (presented at the Cathedral) on December 1 of every year.All Scouts who have earned the Light of Christ and the Parvuli Dei awards are presented in the local parishes with the exception of these Parvuli Dei parish representatives.Why is Scout Sunday celebrated on different dates?Some parishes celebrate Scout Sunday on the actual anniversary and some celebrate in other months. Some times, its a matter of scheduleing and other events going on in the parishes. There is no right or wrong time  to celebrate Scout Sunday in your parish!Scout Sunday Bulletin Covers for your local ParishIf you are interested in having a Scout Sunday cover for your local parish bulletin, please contact your pastor to get permission. Cost: Grade School Program-$25, High School Program-$30

Scouter Development: The Scouter Development Training Program will be offered for adults on Saturday, September 20 from 9am-3:30pm. This program fulfills a requirement for local and national quality unit awards.

Two-4-One: if your unit is registered for the weekend, come to the program free of charge. All other adults are welcome to come for $10. Lunch will be provided.

Biennial High Adventure trek that brings Catholic high school age scouts from around the country together with bishops, priests, religious, and seminarians. Program includes spiritual enrichment, eleven days of backpacking at Philmont Scout Ranch, and three days of leadership training at a back country camp. Crews attend daily Mass in the scenic Sangre de Cristo Mountian Range.

 In high school in the fall of 2013

 Physical health and stamina to backpack at Philmont Scout Reservation

 Committed to assisting their Catholic Committee when they return home

 Cost:  $800 per participant + travel to and from Albuquerque, N M (Scholarships Available)

 The program can only accommodate seventy youth, so only two participants per diocese will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
